My name is martyn and from the age of 15 right up untill i was 27 i used a multiple of drugs and alcohol, everyday i was high and if i wasnt then i spent my time trying to.

Istole off family members, mother, girlfriend, brothers and sisters and my two children, i did not care who got in the way my concern was getting and useing.

The end result was far from glamarous, I was broken, confused, lonely, paranoid,

When at the end of myself i found help from a old friend who had been to a treatment centre wich today i know as livingstonehouse,WOW.

What can i say, i was there for 26 weeks i was introduced to 2 of the greatest people, jhon and sally.

They gave me the tools i need to cope the best i can, i have found a new way of life today and i would not change it for the world,

Hi my name is John Fitzsimmons.I was a servse user and resident at Livingstone house for some 5 months a few years ago,I had been in and out of churches and recovery meetings for some years,but could not sustain any lenth of time without drink and heroin. after another very painful relapse of drinking and drugging I was in souch a state that suicide was an atractive oppsion.I.realy could not go on.I prayed to God to please get me in somewere where I could get back to recovery or I would rather kill myself. my brother David gave me the number of livingstone house,and I spoke to sally on the fone.She told ne to get there by 11-00 monday,this was friday.I was so relieved. My time at livingstone house was very chalinging,and I found it very difficult to face up to certain things.But with the love and support of the staff I managed to hang on in.I will be for ever greatfull to Sally And John for there input and impact on my life. I left and was able to end a relationship with a using addict,wich was very unhealthy for me and for her.I would have been incapable of doing this befor. I also have become an active member in A.A. and I now sponser others in recovery. I have also been blessed with a wonderful wife.Wendy and Imarried in april. And to top it all off I have the job of my dreams,I work in a 12 step alchol rehab. I also had the privlage of opening, with my good friend Brian,the first overcomers outreach meeting in scotland,which is a 12 step christine recovery group. we hav been going for over three years now. my life is good today.I am a productive member of scociety,and for the first time in my life I am happy.None of this could have happened if it was not for my time at livingstonehouse.
