Livingstone House is the detoxification and primary treatment centre.
This is the first port of call for all people who are admitted to the programme. On admission Service Users are comprehensively assessed and a management plan formulated by John Hagans – Clinical Nurse Specialist and the Specialist General Practitioners in Substance Misuse in conjunction with the Service User to most efficiently achieve a drug free state.
As part of this plan a comprehensive action plan is formualted which involves blood borne virus screening, vaccination and referral if necessary. Dentistry, sexual health and other physical/mental health needs are also assessed and treated.
In this time the Service User is required to engage in the programme at Livingstone House and will write a Life Story and following this commence on Step 1, Step 2 and Step 3. On completion of these assignments, the Service User then moves to Livingstone Sanctuary for their secondary treatment.
